The good part of Prednisone… I put back on weight lost before treatment. The bad part is all the damn side effects. To many to mention.
I Never Would Have Entertained The Thought…
Growing up I never had a single thought that later in life I’d be dealing with some weird disease called autoimmune hepatitus. My body is attackingĀ the liver making me fatigued and worthless. The last couple of months have been very, for a lack of a better term, anxious.
Doctor visits, lots of blood work and liver biopsy. Not to mention the $40.00 co-pay every appointment. Three weeks into the medication and my test results are all back to normal. Hurray! Now it’s dealing with these side effects that has me goofy-eyed and body wobbly.
Ah! What A Beautiful Quiet Morning…
It’s Saturday morning as my brain function came into focus- kinda foggy headed. Tried turning my head to look up at the clock and it looked like about 6:20 a.m.. Well, I didn’t really want to get up so I did a little more pretend sleep for about 15 minutes. Ok! I love Saturday early sunrise. I’m gettin up. It’s always so nice and quiet. The way I love it.
I tip-toe through the living room into the kitchen to try and not wake anyone. It usually is my hope to get about an hour of noise-free time before anyone gets up. But, around 20 minutes into the first cup of green tea- it starts. There goes the tranquility!
Stinking Cat…
The cat starts scratching from inside the bedroom door. It’s off from the living room where Mother-in-Law sleeps. I kind of ignore it. Maybe It’ll stop. It steadily gets louder. Sort of like a heavy freight train approaching. Thump- thump- thump! I mean the sound is like the cat takes a tremendously long leaping run and throws himself against the door over and over again. If you can imagine it. Ok! Dad-Gum-It! That’s enough!! Oh well… So much for that little time of contentment.
